Foot Massage with a Navigator

RIGHT FOOT

Walking is not only a very good exercise but also gives us a complimentary foot massage in the process.

This very foot massage stimulates areas where sensory nerve endings terminate.

Please note: A foot massage will feel great, but there is no scientific proof that our whole body is reflected in our hands and feet.  Certainly to increase the blood flow makes the body relax and function better.

Reflexologists have illustrated this in a quite interesting platform, that shows us which organs these nerve endings are connected to. ( as shown on the left pic).

If you look closely, there is a major organ missing on the right that you will only see on left foot… Can you guess what it is?

LEFT FOOT

If you said heart, then you’re correct. Have a look at the left foot illustration and compare the difference.Reflexologists call it acupressure for the feet or foot reflexology ( or foot massage).

Reflexology is the application of pressure, stretch and movement to the feet and hands to effect corresponding parts of the body.

Reflexologists view the feet and hands as a mirror image of the body. By applying technique a reflexologist can break up patterns of stress in other parts of the body.

There are many theories but let’s look at how a reflexologist approach the central nervous system.

According to the principles of reflexolgy, pressure applied to the feet generates a signal through the peripheral nervous system.

From there it enters the central nervous system where it is processed in various parts of the brain.

It is then relayed to the internal organs to allocate the necessary adjustments in fuel and oxygen. Finally a response is fashioned that is sent onto the motor system.

To illustratte, refer to this diagram from a Human Anatomy resource showing the path of the Central Nervous System:

Reflexologist maintain that acupressure for feet can be done on its own or as part of your regular exercise routine to relax and energize, to improve circulation and to stimulate internal organs and major energy meridians that end in the feet.

My final parting words for this article?

Reflexology is a complement to standard medical care.

It should not be construed as medical advice nor should it be a replacement to professional medical help. Use it wisely. We care about your safety.
